Struttin’ the Strada

Could there really be one road encompassing all of the liquid treasures of Chianti Classico? World renown wine and varietal olive oils that make wine enthusiasts and foodies swoon?  YES, is the answer.  The Chianti Classico Wine and Olive Oil Road was created in 2008 in a geographical area that covers nine communities in Florence and Siena.  The Strada, as it is called, unites not only wine and food, but historical and artistic treasures as well as hotels, farm houses with visitor quarters, restaurants, shops and more, across the linked areas.

While all things intriguing can be found on the Strada today, its existence is also a travel into history, for the road has existed since the times of the Etruscans, the Romans and when Florence and Siena fought for control of the Chianti Classico region.

When you plan your first or next trip to Chianti Classico, you’ll be amazed at all of the sights and treasures you will find along the Strada del Chianti Classico.
